Wash for Life 2006

Kilmarnock, VA
St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church CYO, Kilmarnock, VA

Most of the children were middle-school students. They came ready to work for this great cause and were soooo excited. They worked consistently for 5 hours in 90+ degree heat. We are so proud of them!! We are already talking about how to do it even better next year!!

- Fr. David Page, Holy Name of Jesus Church and School, Indialantic, FL

We had a fabulous day, beautiful weather, and people gave generous donations! We were just thrilled with how it all turned out. :) I personally enjoyed talking to the people while their cars were being washed, being 6 months pregnant myself. It was really neat to tell them about AGAPE and hand out the AGAPE brochures, and hear their own stories about pregnancy :)

It went really great, and I’m sure that as the years go on, this is only going to get bigger! Everyone had a blast, and I know our school’s going to keep doing this for years to come. Thanks so much for all the work you guys put in on your end!

- Carrie Faur, Saint Thomas More Academy’s Pro-Life Club, Raleigh, NC

We were concerned when we saw the cloudy weather, but ended up with a decent turn-out. One of the teens who participated was celebrating his 16th birthday and chose to spend the first part of his day in service - very inspiring. Some of the women (and their babies) who receive aid from The Gabriel Project also participated and washed some cars! This was a great experience! Thanks for the idea!

Holy Family LIFE TEEN, Rockford, IL

We had a great time with really good, sunny weather. Our youth did such a nice job washing all the cars until they sparkled and giving them extra TLC. We also got an application for two new volunteers at our center and a possible corporate donation just by washing a few cars. This is a great event and our youth would love to make it a yearly project!

- Marissa Wolfe, Real Life Youth Ministry, Urbana, IL

Our group worked joyfully and constantly from 10 am to 3 pm. They gave out prolife bumperstickers and bracelets to all who came to the Wash for Life. They were so excited to see so many people give them enthusiastic praise for the work that they were doing!! They couldn’t wait to count the cash to see how much they had raised for the Women’s Center of Lafayette!!!! They are talking about the next time we do this already. Some students from LSU wanted to know how they could get involved

Emmons Sisters car wash, Grants Pass, OR
so my kids told them!!!! We loved being involved in a national prolife event!! This generation is definitely PROLIFE!!!!

- Jenny Shute, Junior Legion of Mary, Opelousas, LA

It was awesome!! Our parish is out in the country and has only about 200 families! A great success! The youth loved it. One bad thing, it is lovebug season down here-WOW what a job!!!!
